MN Breast Cancer Coalition Patient Assistance Fund

In December 2022 the Minnesota Breast Cancer Coalition established the Minnesota Breast Cancer Coalition Patient Assistance Fund at the University of Minnesota Foundation.

The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance for non-medical expenses incurred by breast cancer patients who are being currently treated at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital.

Social workers with UMFairview Hospital administer the fund. Some examples of the type of assistance provided are grocery gift cards; gas gift cards; parking/transportation expenses; babysitting expenses; utility payments; and rent/mortgage payments.

In addition to the MBCC Patient Assistance Fund at the University of MN Fairview Hospital, the Minnesota Breast Cancer Coalition donated $44,000 to Circle of Hope Duluth’s Patient Assistance Fund from 2014-2020 and $20,000 to the Angel Foundation from 2021-2022.
